It all comes down to habit and efficiency.
Epiphany #1: Most people have 5, 10 or 15 websites that they go to on a routine basis.
Epiphany #2: Most people visit their favorite websites in the exact same order every day.
Epiphany #3: Most people navigate to these websites via their "Favorites Menu."
Problem #1: Although effective, a "Favorites Menu" is not the most efficient way to surf the web.
Problem #2: Although handy on your own computer, a "Favorites Menu" is not "Portable." In other words, if you where to go to your friend's house - or any other computer in the world for that matter - it is highly unlikely that you will be able to access your "Favorites Menu" to help you surf the web.
SOLUTION: A "Personalized Page" - containing all of your favorite websites in the "Power Bar" - that you can access simply by typing in your very own "Personalized Domain" ... on any computer, anywhere in the world, at any time.
A “Personalized Domain / Page” is simply a collection of all of your favorite websites that you can access by typing in your "Personalized Domain."
Your default "Personalized Domain" is simply (1) your cellular number followed by (2) ".YouOX.com" ... and YES, you can change it. In fact, we strongly encourage you to do just that!
For example, if my cell number where 8015550000, then my default "Persoanlized Domain" would be "8015550000.YouOX.com."
For your convenience, we create a default "Personalized Domain / Page" for everyone who creates a Mobile O/X account. If you never use it - fine! However, when you decide to modify it by (1) choosing your own unique "Personalized Domain" and (2) by adding your favorite websites, everything is ready to go.
Changing your default "Personalized Domain" is easy.
You simply fill in two "fields," and hit "save" That's it!
FIELD #1 = "Your Name / Nickname / Alias"
FIELD #2 = select one of You O/X's 5000+ Options.
Furthermore, you are free to change your Personalized Domain at any time.
However, BE WARNED, that once you change your Personalized Domain, someone else is free to claim your previous domain. Once given up, you might not be able to get it back.
A Personalized Domain is a domain that not only helps you express yourself, but also helps you navigate to all of your favorite websites as quickly as possible.
Examples of Personalized Domains are:
If my name were David and I Loved Baseball, my Personalized Domain could be David.LovesBaseball.com .
If my name were Jill and if I were A Painter, then my Personalized Domain could be Jill.PaintsIt.com .
When picking your own Personalized Domain, you can choose from over 5000 options.
(When entering a Personalized Domain, remember that you do not need to enter "http://www." or "www." Simply clear everything out of the URL bar, and enter your Personalized Domain, your browser will do the rest.)
Have you ever tried to remember a lame URL from a site like MySpace, Flickr, Photobucket, or YouTube? You know, something like http://youtube.com/watch?v=W5u0khFnHUg&feature=bz303.
Or how about this one? What if you want to go directly to the LA Laker’s page on ESPN without having to navigate through 4 or 5 clicks?
OK, if remembering one lame URL is tough enough, how about trying to remember 23 of them?
With You O/X’s Personalized Pages / Domains, you can access all of your favorite web-pages by typing in a simple, memorable, personal, and unique domain.
An Option is simply one of our 5000+ Domain names (something like LovesBaseball.com or PaintsIt.com) that you can use to create your very own Personalized Domain.
There are a myriad of situations where You O/X comes in handy, they include:
(1) An individual who wants to access all of his or her favorite websites from any browser, on any computer anywhere in the world, with little to no effort.
(2) An individual who has multiple social networking sites (and consequently, multiple Lame URLs) such as MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube, Flickr, and so on, and who wants to organize all of them onto a single page.
(3) A band or group who has multiple pages scattered among a number of sites. For instance, a MySpace page, a YouTube page, a Flickr page, a Blog, a Community Board, and so on, and who wants to organize all of them all into a single page with a Personalized Domain that is descriptive, memorable, and unique for their fans.
(4) An individual who is interested in creating their own website while leveraging all of the cool technology that is available for FREE on the internet today.
Your default page is the first page you see when you type in your Personalized Domain.
It has three components:
FIRST - the You O/X Power Bar located at the very top of the page. This bar can contain links for up to 23 web-addresses.
SECOND - the Home Page that first displays in the main Frame. It's up to you to decide what website you want to display as your Home Page.
THIRD - the optional background that you have chosen. You can modify this at any time.
The default You O/X Home Page is the first webpage you see in the main Frame whenever you type in your Personalized Domain. It will be (1) the first web address you enter in your You O/X management page and (2) it will display as the first of the 8 First Level Text links on your You O/X bar. (Or the first link you see on the lower left hand corner of the You O/X Power Bar.)
The 8 First Level links are the 8 links that are found at the bottom of the You O/X bar. These are the 8 links you can customize with your own text.
The 15 Second Level links are the 15 links that are found at the top left of the You O/X bar. They are represented by each website’s Favicon.
Most websites have Favicons. Unfortunately, a few websites don't. That's why no Favicon appears. However, the link still works. Just hover your mouse over the area where the Favicon should appear, and click.
Although a typical individual will surf through thousands of websites during his or her lifetime, it is our experience that a user can satisfy 90 – 100% of his or her surfing needs by using the You O/X Power Bar.
Absolutely not!
Your Personalized Domain / Page is fully functional, whether you have 1 website or 23 websites linked to it.
They have inserted JavaScript to break out of all frames. This prevents you from easily accessing other websites through You O/X.
When you are choosing your 23 sites that you want to include in your You O/X Personalized Page, you may want some of them to open up in a Pop-Up window (or New Browser Window or Tab) instead of having them displayed in the You O/X main Frame.
There are two primary reasons for this:
First – you will want any site that displays sensitive data – such as your banking account – to display in a New Browser Window as an added security measure.
Second – anytime you encounter a site that uses javascript to break out of the You O/X frame or that make other websites display as Pop-Ups when you try to exit their webpage.
Absolutely not!
Not only do we fully display original website within the You O/X main Frame, but we credit the original URL in the You O/X URL bar.
Absolutely!
Almost every website is concerned about one thing: Traffic.
With You O/X, users are more likely to visit a given website because it is now more accessable and easy to navigate to. In short, every website should have the hope of becoming an individual's You O/X Home Page, and if not that, then one of the 8 Main Links, and if not that, then one of the 15 Secondary Links. (If a website can't even get into an individual's Top 23, it is very unlikely that this website will ever garner consistent traffic from that person. Ouch!)
In sum, we have no intention of replacing / duplicating / ripping off other websites. Rather, we're in the business of making it easier for individuals to navigate to their favorite websites ... and display these websites just as they are served from their owners.
Yes! You O/X simply uses standard JavaScript and HTML Standard frames to display the websites you visit most. The data that passes from the websites to you does not pass through You O/X's servers at all. It goes directly from the originating server to your browser in a frame. The same security measures that apply when you serf the web normally are in place and you can be confident that your information is as safe when viewed through your Personalized Domain as it is when you navigate to the page directly.
